I was raised in Sargent Nebraska, but my family is from Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua. I have lived in Albuquerque since 2006 and have an amazing wife and two children that are very supportive of my passion in the fields of racial and social justice. After high school graduation I moved to Lincoln Nebraska where I got a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and since have received my Master of Social Work with a bilingual/bicultural concentration from New Mexico Highlands University.

In my career I have worked with students since 1995 first as a student employee and after that at a professional staff with TRIO Programs at UNL and Title V(5) at UNM. Since 2010 I have been with El Centro de la Raza where I have worked with many programs and partners in several fields including immigration, racial and social justice, combating sexual violence, and access and success in higher education. I serve at UNM as a co-chair for the Provost Undocu Taskforce, co-chair in Engaging Men and Masculine Identifying People working group, and as a staff councilor.

I continue to grow and learn about the needs of our communities with the day to day interactions with not only students but the rest of the Albuquerque and New Mexico community members.
