Eligibility

  • Program is open to any qualifying student regardless of immigration status
  • Must be a UNM incomming freshmen or sophmore enrolled in fall and spring semesters
  • Be able to attend all programming sessions in fall and spring semesters.
  • Must meet 1 of 3 of the following criteria:
    • Member of an underrepresented ethnic group in higher education
    • First generation college student
    • Eligible for Pell or State Aid

Requirements:

  • Commit to participate in the mentorship program for both fall and spring semesters
  • Attend 8 sessions, once a month
  • Participate in traditional and ceremonial activities 
  • Actively commit to the learning process and embrace new knowledge
  • Participate in El Centro cultural workshops and events
