Hola! My name is Cinthia León Lazcano and I was born and raised in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico during the first six of my life before immigrating to Albuquerque, NM. During my time as a student at UNM, El Centro became a pivotal part of my journey by helping me navigate higher education as a first generation, undocumented student and encouraging me to pursue a graduate degree. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Population Health and a Second Major in Spanish at UNM in 2020 and went on to attain a Master of Public Health in Community Health Sciences from UCLA in 2022. My goal is to support students, particularly graduate students, to navigate complex systems of higher education, develop graduate initiatives across campus, advocate alongside and celebrate our raza students.
