Ivette Acevedo Weatherholtz

Ivette (pronounced E-vet, pronouns she/her/ella) is a Counselor Education doctoral student at the University of New Mexico and a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Professional Counselor and supervisor. Ivette specializes in complex trauma, migration trauma, attachment repair and reunification, cultural and race-based trauma, bilingual counselor development and supervision, and anti-oppressive practices. She is passionate about integrating creativity, play, somatic psychology, and natural healing practices to provide holistic therapeutic experiences that rupture cycles of intergenerational, community, and social-political trauma. Ivette is a National Certified Counselor, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She has completed certifications in EMDR and ITCT-A and has completed training in Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and Trust-based Relation Intervention (T-BRI). During her free time, Ivette enjoys going to coffee shops (to drink tea), listening to music, eating good food, and calligraphy.
